Dagachu Hydropower Project

DHP is a run-of-the-river hydropower plant with an installed capacity of 126 MW at the estimated cost of 10.918 billion (USD 201 million). It is promoted by the Asian Development Bank and is the first Public Private Partnership project in Bhutan with DGPC, Tata Power and National Pension Fund as joint venture partners. A notable achievement of DHPC is that it is the world's first trans-boundary Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project to be successfullly registered with UNFCC. The construction of the project is underway and is scheduled to be completed by July 2014.
