Druk Holding and Investments (DHI) was established through a Royal Charter issued by His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck on 11 November 2007. DHI was created with the primary mandate “to hold and manage the existing and future investments of the Royal Government of Bhutan for the long term benefit of its shareholders, the people of Bhutan” and it is the investment arm of the government. The Ministry of Finance is DHI’s sole shareholder.

Currently, DHI fully owns eight companies and holds shares ranging from 14-80% in eight other companies. These companies operate in the energy, telecommunication, aviation, natural resources, financial and manufacturing sectors.
