Bhutan Board Products
BBP was incorporated in 1983. It manufactures graded plain and pre-laminated particle boards, and ready-to-assemble furniture for domestic sale and export.
BBP’s particle board and furniture products are all eco-friendly.
Bhutan Ferro Alloys
BFA was set up in 1990 as a joint venture of the Royal Government, Marubeni Corporation and the Tashi Group of Companies. It produces about 30,000 tonnes of Ferro Silicon per annum. The company has an excellent track record in terms of consistent production, quality product and customer service.
Bhutan National Bank
BNB was incorporated as the second Bhutanese banking company in 1995. Since then the bank has been rapidly growing and making enormous strides.
BNB’s mission is to become the leading “Relationship Bank” in Bhutan; offering an array of banking products and services such as customized loans, investments, letter of credits, foreign exchange and remittances to advisory services.
Koufuku International Private Limited
DHI and Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories Limited (SNBL), Japan, have obtained a provisional FDI Registration Certificate from MoEA for a joint venture company, Koufuku International Private Limited (KIPL). The proposed project is to set up a dairy processing plant in Bhutan. The objective is to commercialize the operation of the dairy processing unit on a long term sustaibable model. The project will provide farmers with a reliable and convenient outlet for their dairy produce thereby improving their quality of life. The total project cost is estimated at Nu. 50 million and will be fully equity financed by SNBL and DHI in the ration of 70:30. The project is currently underway and the expected date of operation is September 2013.
Penden Cement Authority
PCA started production in 1981. It was the first cement plant in the country. It produces 1,300 tonnes of cement a day. Besides meeting the entire domestic requirement of Bhutan, PCA also exports cement to neighbouring Indian States. Working at its optimum capacity, the cement factory has contributed handsomely to the government exchequer.
Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan
RICB was incorporated in 1975 as the first Insurance Company in the country and provides various insurance services.
RICB has grown from strength to strength over the years in keeping with the nation’s march towards the goal of economic growth, self-reliance and GNH.
