Robert began his professional insurance career with Royal & SunAlliance in 2001 as an underwriter in their New York office where he analyzed Fortune 500 financial and professional risks. Robert later joined Allianz in a similar position, also in New York. In 2003, Robert moved to San Francisco, California and joined Marsh's office there as a client advisor working with clients in a variety of sectors who had need of financial and professional risk insurance.

In 2007, Marsh relocated Robert to London where he worked with Marsh's retail offices in North America, Asia and South Africa. In 2009, Robert left London to pursue a life goal of world travel with a focus on exploring emerging markets prior to enrolling in business school in the Netherlands.

During business school, Robert worked with two start-ups/early stage companies, and after business school Robert joined DHI in Bhutan as a consultant with their private sector development initiative called BEGIN. Robert is currently working for a privately held French insurance broker in Myanmar (Burma) to establish their representative office in this newly opened market.
